Phonetastic

Every one is always talking on the phone. I really don't get it. I mean, yeah, it's great to hear someone's voice and you sure can get a better feel for their sarcastic tone than you can through text/instant message.
Maybe my hatred for it comes from not having an opposable neck like everyone else. I cannot gab on the phone and still have two hands to do things. Maybe it also comes from the fact that walking and talking is also very hard for me. Another thing I dislike about phones, is talking about one thing in great length then having the other party say, “oh, let me put you on speakerphone so you can say the same thing all over again because I am too lame/lazy to repeat what you just said to the other person/people in the room.”
I would much rather communicate via words written down - they're easily shared and more permanent that the spoken word. Emails, texts, etc. are what I love. I'm not saying that they should be used instead of phone convos or even face-to-face interactions, but it is the way I prefer to communicate.  Mind you, while I love writing messages for other people to read and enjoy reading what they have to say in return, I also dislike reading books...but that's another story/blog.
